Mary Jo Stiegemeier, OD, FAAO Diplomate

Dr. Mary Jo Stiegemeier is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry, earning a Doctor of Optometry and a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Physiological Optics. Dr. Stiegemeier founded Western Reserve Vision Care, a private practice in Beachwood and Hudson, Ohio. She was an optometrist at MyEyeDr. Beachwood and a former staff optometrist at The Cole Eye Institute, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Specialty Contact Lens Clinic, Department of Ophthalmology. She was one of the founding members of Women of Vision, an organization dedicated to mentoring female optometrists.

Dr. Stiegemeier has received many accolades in her optometric career including The Bausch and Lomb Contact Lens Award and The Distinguished Teaching Award, presented by Mt. Sinai Hospital Cleveland, Ohio. She was also the recipient of the American Optometric Association Contact Lens and Cornea Section's Luminary Award for Distinguished Practice and recognized by the National Academies of Practice as a distinguished practitioner in optometry.

Dr. Stiegemeier's past faculty appointments include Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at the Pacific College of Optometry and The University of Missouri - St. Louis College of Optometry, as well as past faculty seat at The Case Western Reserve College of Medicine.

Dr. Stiegemeier is a Fellow of The American Academy of Optometry, a Diplomate in the Academy's Section on Cornea, Contact Lenses and Refractive Technologies, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.

In addition to her work in optometry, she enjoys family life in the panhandle of Florida with husband Andrew. She has four children, eight grandchildren and four dachshunds. She loves cooking, boating, watching the Blue Angels air shows and crafts.
